Maria Anzbach in the Vienna Woods

Recently, another groundbreaking facade renovation project was completed in Maria Anzbach in the Vienna Woods . As part of this renovation, a substructure of squared timbers was first attached to the existing facade of a detached house. This was followed by 6 cm of wood fiber insulation boards. The resulting 10 cm cavity was filled with straw blown-in insulation from Vinzenz Harrer GmbH by the blown-in insulation experts from the Raiffeisen warehouse in Zwettl, and finally, the facade received a high-quality, vapor-permeable plaster finish. With a total insulation thickness of 16 cm, the building now has a vapor-permeable facade. Unlike synthetic materials, this solution causes no moisture problems, even in older buildings. The slightly higher costs compared to conventional EPS facade insulation are undoubtedly justified by the sustainability and longevity of a straw facade. Disposal is also a non-issue for future generations with this option.
